This is a Tiny Tears doll by American Character.  Tiny Tears is approximately 13 inches tall. She was made circa 1950-1955.  Although some of the words have rubbed off, she is marked on the back of her neck, American Character.

 She has pretty soft auburn caracul hair.  There are no bare spots.  Just around the front and sides look to me to be just a little lighter but it is not bad and not noticeable.  Her eyes are a beautiful hazel but they really look more green to me.

This Tiny Tears has softly blushed original blush with no rubs.  Her open mouth nurser is sweet with no rubs.  Her eyes open and close easily with full dark lush lashes.  Her brows have faded a little but you can still see them.  She has a rub on the tip of her nose which in my opinion looks just adorable.  It seems to set her apart and makes her more real and special.  Her little cheeks are chubby and so sweet!

Tiny Tears has the popular palms down rubber body.  There are no chews, bites, splits or cracks.  It is still soft.  One side seam is more noticeable than the other side. She has all fingers and toes.  Tiny no longer cries.  Her body is even in color. She has the wetting hole in back as all Tiny Tears made by American Character have.

Tiny Tears comes with the most gorgeous dress.  It is aqua and white checked.  Feels like seersucker.  White lace lines the top, sleeves and skirt.  The waist has the same pretty lace but has a row of tiny pink roses.  Tiny Tears has matching panties and a bonnet.  She is just precious in this outfit.

She comes with her original romper, white booties and her baby, a TY Teenie Beenie Baby, "Coral the Fish".  Her romper has a pin size hole.  Otherwise it is clean without tears or rips.

Tiny Tears was much loved in the 1950's and was known as the doll that cried real tears and could also drink and wet.  Today, she is still very much loved by many and brings back sweet precious memories.  What a joy to have these dolls from our past!
